MONEYVAL carries out analysis go to to Estonia
As a part of the mutual analysis of Estonia, a group of evaluators from the Council of Europe’s Committee of Consultants on the Analysis of Anti-Cash Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) carried out an on-site go to to Estonia from 25 April to six Could 2022.
The aim of this mutual analysis is to evaluate the nation’s technical compliance and efficient implementation of the worldwide anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) requirements, in accordance with the 2013 Monetary Motion Process Drive (FATF) methodology.
The evaluation group consists of MONEYVAL consultants with authorized, monetary and legislation enforcement expertise, assisted by members of the MONEYVAL Secretariat.
On the opening of the on-site go to the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Estonia, Ms Keit Pentus-Rosimannus, emphasised the nation’s dedication to fight cash laundering, terrorism financing and financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Through the on-site go to, quite a few conferences have been held with representatives of Estonia’s supervisory authorities, prison justice system and the operational companies concerned in AML/CFT. The report is scheduled for dialogue and adoption on the 64th plenary assembly of MONEYVAL in December 2022.
