Yorkshire Regiment soldiers reunite missing dog and owner in Estonia

SOLDIERS OF THE Yorkshire Regiment helped to rescue a dog that had been lost for days in freezing Estonian conditions.

After being found by soldiers in the Baltic country, the dog was nicknamed Socks and was reunited with his owner.

Socks was removed from the exercise area after he was found. The service personnel provided water, shelter and food for Socks.

Captain Styles, one of his rescuers said that it was a privilege to locate Socks with my group, return him to safety, and reunite him with his owners.

“He had clearly been out on training area for a while. But we are glad that his story has ended in a happy ending.”

As part of NATO Winter Camp, elements of The Parachute Regiment (and The Yorkshire Regiment) are currently deployed with others from a variety of cap badges.
